Want to be an Apprentice?
Some of Shakespeare’s greatest roles were probably played by young men in his company. Viola, Rosalind, Juliet, would have all been played by seasoned Apprentice actors.
Now it’s your turn to join the fun!
The Apprentice program is divided into two sections:
Junior Apprentice – Grades 11 & 12 – Junior Apprentices help with basic theatre duties and will participate in a main stage production. They will participate in rehearsals and will receive the same text work training as our professional ensembles. Junior Apprentices can participate as mentors and Assistant Director’s to younger students in an educational setting. This opportunity is FREE to any qualifying student.
Senior Apprentice – College Students – This more rigorous program is designed to fulfill Internship requirements for students studying theatre performance and/or education. College Apprentices will be given specific projects to manage that support their major. They will be cast in speaking roles in our main stage productions. They will receive the same advanced training in text work our professional actors complete. Senior apprentices may have the opportunity to direct scenes or lead educational programs. Please note – this is an UNPAID internship opportunity (although participants may be given first consideration for additional paying work during their tenure.)
